“We may have countless millennia before us, or behind us. Thus, this place chooses to become a page where someone of the next millennium might slip in a bookmark or leave a note. With strokes of paint across the white ground, it reads the hearts of those we may never meet. With images layered upon images, it takes the mind on a journey without leaving the seat. Here, we are free to edit and rearrange everything we see and read. A painting is a bookmark. A painting is a memo. A painting becomes a material through which the world is interpreted.”

From October 10 to November 2, 2025, Park Wongeun’s first solo exhibition, Memo for the Next Millennium will be held at OUTHOUSE. Between millennia, Park Wongeun reflects in painting the external world that has flowed into his inner self. The heavy past blocking his way forward, the unknown future pressing at his back—his paintings, like light reflecting both the bygone and the forthcoming millennia, bind together times that fail to connect and draw nearer the distance between those who cannot meet.
